Your question requires only a simple solution as it is a fact that DRY SKIN problems respond well to self-care measures, such as using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot showers and baths. If you have very dry and scaly skin, your doctor may recommend you use an all-natural cream that contains natural oils that gives soothing and glowing results.

In a more serious skin disease, such as ichthyosis or psoriasis, your doctor may prescribe prescription creams and ointments or other treatments in addition to home care.

Dry skin leads to dermatitis, which causes red, itchy skin. In these cases, treatment may include lotions with natural-oil ingredients. If your skin cracks open, your doctor may prescribe wet dressings with mildly astringent properties to contract your skin and reduce secretions and prevent infection.

I believe http://www.skinsosilky.com/ will help you best for more advices, ideas and best treatments for any skin problem like dry skin.I have quite dry skin ,especially the arm/ legs, has anyone got any suggestions of a really good cream Please?
The best moisturizer is the Hydrating Creme Concentrate for Body from Bee Royal. It hydrates and doesn't just cover up the dryness with a greasy mess.

you don't need to be white to be beautiful... you should embrace your color, and also skin bleach has really bad long term benefits for your brain and body. Haven't you seen the tyra show where the lady puts bleach on her littlee 4 year old boys!!!!!!!!!
Why do you want to be white? There's not anything wrong with white skin, but if you're not white naturally, why do you want to be?
shiseido has a whitening line that is nice.

A good EYE CREAM?? skin care help please!?

Anyone know of a good anti-aging eye cream that 1) has SPF protection, 2) smoothens lines, 3) brightens dark circles (if there's such a thing...), and 4) De-puffs?? I really need something better than what I have to improve the skin under my eyes....college has aged me quite a bit!!! :-(

if you can't end up finding one for puffiness, get the bath and body works stuff and do a home remedy for your puffiness like tiny ice packs or something.. good luck! :)A good EYE CREAM?? skin care help please!?
The BEST ( and you can even look this up) is stri-vectin. It is expensive but it works great and the small container lasts for over a year so it is worth it. Victoria's Secret website sells it or you can get it at Sephora, etc. Google it.

    Clarins

    http://www.slapiton.tv/product_clarins_e鈥?/a>
I like Oil of Olay with the sponge on top to exfoliate the skin under your eyes.
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

    http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11鈥?/a>

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off. Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer..

Is a liquid cream cleanser better 4 dry skin then a face soap?

depending on what the composition of the cleanser is. liquid cream cleanser with moisturizer is better for dry skin, since it softens the face.Is a liquid cream cleanser better 4 dry skin then a face soap?
I have sensitive and dry skin in varying patches, and the product that I have most success with is Nivea Facial Wipes. I use tham morning and night and they leave my skin feeling clean and fresh but without the slimy feel of a cream or the stinging of an astringent , plus they are also not tested on animals, so thats a bonus. I also use the Protect and Perfect Serum from Boots No 7 and the day and night cream. It may inititally be a large outlay but the difference has been amazing in 6 months. Is a liquid cream cleanser better 4 dry skin then a face soap?
liquid cream cleanser is usually best for dry skin whereas face soap is more suited for oily skin
    olay daily cleanser is v.good
Surely it depends on which part of your body is dry...
Yes, I have dry skin and swear by liquid cleanser. At the moment I am using the Clinique Gentle Foaming Cleanser. It is very gentle but no drying and gets all my makeup off. Really do love it and you only need a tiny bit to clean your whole face. You can pick up a big tube for about 拢5 from http://www.beautyparlor.co.uk and it will last for a few months at least.
    yes
    not nessessarily

I use soap to cleanse and then use a good moisturiser

liquid soaps dont often have good mositurisers in them
I am prone to acne but also suffer from dry skin, so its always been a bit of a balancing act for me.

I have been using Simple's cleansing lotion, which I find cleanses my skin but without over drying it (which can end up making your face more greasy, which I follow by applying their light moisturiser afterwards. Overall I find it keeps my face clean and soft without drying my skin out

Dior snow is a very good whitener. It depends on your skin type but any that has a good level of hydroquinone in it will work fine in any over the counter whitener. If you want a stronger whitener with higher levels of hydroquinone you will have to get it from a dermatologist just be careful and follow the recommendations in using it. Also if you don't like the idea of using chemicals on you're face Peter Thomas Roth makes a few different lighteners that have natural ingredients. What is the best brand for whitening cream/moisturiser for asian skin?

  • Dermovate cream - will any other product help my skin?

Dermovate cream - will any other product help my skin? Im allergic to almost all soaps except Dove. But its only my hands that are effective. ONLY DERMOVATE actually helps, and it does work, very fast too. However, it does thin the skin. is there any other creams i can use thats as powerful? E45 and Eumovate barely do a thing.Dermovate cream - will any other product help my skin?
dermovate is a stroid cream, if you really have a bad problem the chances are this is the only thing that will work properly. However over the counter eumovate has less steroid in it and will thin less. Thinning though takes years. you can buy eumovate at a pharmacist.

When you wash your hands, unless you've done a number 2 use aqueous cream, just buy the generic stuff from somewhere like superdrug (cheapest ive found) you may have to ask at the pharmacy counter for it.

One cream I find really good is Dexeryl, though havent seen it on sale in the uk you can get it france from the pharmacy it doesnt need a prescription.

Other things you can try are baby moisturising cream (not lotion) if you can get unperfumed its much better as perfume can aggravate problems.

you could also try olive oil and this is going to sound gross but a little bit of clean duck fat or lard can also help, dont use too much though you'll have s lippy hands all dayDermovate cream - will any other product help my skin?
You are really in trouble I am afraid.

All potent, flourinated, steroids are going to thin and mark the skin, swapping to another won't stop this. You you need to wean your skin away from them entirely by using gradual dilutions.
i use to get dermovate cream from the dermo clinic at the hospital.it takes a little time to work.but it is worth the wait because it is very good.
Wash in Aqueous Cream, and also try using Double Base Cream, this is excellent for dry skin.

    Don't do it.

It's just like when people where I live get fake tans, its really disgusting and unnatural.

I've got light skin and just because I'm sucked into the media ';you have to be dark to be hot'; doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and have a pathetic fake tan.

I'll tan naturally if I have to. I actually do in Summer... I like it.

Natural skin colour is the best.

Fair skin, tanned skin and dark skin are all very beautiful. AS LONG AS ITS ALL NATURAL.

    Seriously, just be yourself.

And tell those african/american girls that they should be proud of being black.

    A skin discoloration cream?

Hey i am black and i know skin discoloration is more prone to black people. anyways. I have some on my legs and on my stomach it makes me really self consiences. Does anyone know of a GOOD CREAM that could work? one that wont break the BUDGET lol. thank you i really need help.

    :)A skin discoloration cream?
Do you mean your skin is darkening or losing pigment?

If it is getting lighter, even though not designed for black people, a really dark fake tanning lotion might make it less noticeable. Try jergens or hawaiian tropic. This will be something to reapply twice or 3 times a week but it doesn't wash off

if the spots are darker, they make skin lightening creams with peroxide and other lightening chemicals in them that could work on the spots.A skin discoloration cream?
I think Avon has a cream for skin discoloration...I don't remember the specifics though.

Is there anything recommended cream or oil for tightening the skin after prgnancy?

use any lotion with exellent source of vitamin E. i use palmer's coco butter often tho.Is there anything recommended cream or oil for tightening the skin after prgnancy?
Vitamin E helps. (pill or in lotion) Of course this alone will not tighten the skin though. I am using Burt's Bee's Mama Bee Belly ButterIs there anything recommended cream or oil for tightening the skin after prgnancy?
i know im a gut but i always hear girls sayin coco butter
bio oil is apparently very good, i just used a normal moisteriser and all is fine
During my pregnancy i have been using palmers cocoa butter. Its a massage lotion for stretch marks. It has really helped, I have very few stretch marks. it is also recommended for use after pregnancy to help your stretch marks. I will be using it once my pregnancy is over (40 wks today!) as it has done wonders for me so far. Plus, it makes your skin super soft, and smells delicious!!
    Time and exercise!

Edit: stretch marks can't be prevented or removed by using cocoa butter, but it does smell great and keeps your itchy skin super moiturized. I never used a drop of cocoa butter and I have no stretch marks. Unf. they have a hereditary link.

Oh yes...the requisite thumbs down for stating a medical fact....study up or ask your doctors..they will confirm my response.
one of the best things you can do is to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. other than that, time will take care of most of the skin tightening.

PS: apply them when your face is damp cause, our skin absorbs more moisture when it is just washed
Buy an intensive facial moisturizer from the store.

What cream is good for red, flaking skin (face)?

    THIS INFO WILL CURE AND HELP PREVENT RED, DRY, FLAKEY SKIN;

Avoid harsh soaps (such as Ivory, Dial, and Irish Spring); instead use fragrance-free soaps with a moisturizer (such as Dove).

Moisturize the skin after your daily treatment with an ointment such as A%26amp;D, Eucerin, Aquaphor, or Radiacare. Put a lot on at night and wear an old T-shirt so it doesn't get on your bed clothes.

For mild itching and burning, apply an aloe vera preparation. Or try 1% hydrocortisone cream (available without a prescription at any drugstore). Spread the cream thinly over the affected area three times a day.

If areas become especially red, itchy, sore, and start to burn, and low鈥損otency cream no longer relieves your symptoms, ask your doctor for a stronger steroid cream that is available by prescription. Try 2.5% hydrocortisone cream first. If necessary, you can go up to Psorcon 0.05% cream or ointment.

Dry flaking skin鈥搇ike an old sunburn鈥搑esponds nicely to frequent moisturizing and gentle cleansing. What cream is good for red, flaking skin (face)?
Try some Vaseline Intensive Care lotion. What cream is good for red, flaking skin (face)?
    cocca butter
Olay daily mosturizer for sensitive skin
Avoid all creams with oil in them. They trap in heat. If you do use a cream, I'd use a very mild one like Aveeno's daily lotion with oatmeal. This will moisturize your skin, but will not reduce your redness.

The question you have to ask yourself is how to get rid of the redness.

Avoid the sun(heat of the sun) and all forms of heat period. Do not drink or eat anything that will make your skin flush. Keep your skin/face cool by spraying it with a mist of water in the summer. Don't wear suntan lotion. The oil in the lotion is really bad for making your skin red and feeling hotter.

Moisturize your skin(face) by taking a bath in lukewarm (not hot) water a couple times a week. Water is the key to solving dry skin, not lotions.

Read this link about heat and red(erythema) skin Its a bit extreme, but you get the idea.

    that doesn't sound nice!

if it's sun burn, maybe you should try Aloe Vera

even the real stuff is good, if not better than the moisturizer

Cetaphil from the drugstore. It is gentle and recommended by alot of dermatologists. They have cleanser too.
( just an idea ) Try a dandruff control, find and try a product called '; HASK '; made by ; Hask Toiletries, Dist., Div. Alleghany, Pharmacal Corp., Great Neck, N.Y. 11021. I use it for dandruff control. I buy it where I get my hair cut.
for now use one with high moisture content and no perfumes, I would go see a dermatologist though it could be exema
Hydrocortesone cream. If it persists see your doctor and he'll give you something stronger. For plain old dry skin I reccommend lubriderm.
Nivea - they have good moisturisers for sensitive skin.

I've experimented with anti-wrinkle products. None of the ones I tried have made any difference, except for giving me eczema on the nose. You could use a little egg white to tighten the wrinkles but then you could have an allergic reaction. I know you can use natural things like cucumber slices, strawberries, lemons, etc. Best to buy a book on beauty so you can make your own skin treats.

?How do i treat bad skin? im on anti biotics and have cream but the spots wont go! people say stuff but idntcar?
Well you can start having good diet as well.

No alcohol especially given to understand that you are on antibiotics.

No beef or pork and downsize your intake of dairy food.

    Eat more vegetables and fruits.

    15-20 glasses of water.

    Good night sleep

No stress and no over watching your face in mirror.

Spots do go away but it would take 3-4 months to see difference.

Can anyone recommend a face cream that has an spf but is also suitable for blemish prone skin?

    Hi!

I had a problem similar to yours a couple of years ago.

A dermatologist told me to forget all the branded face creams and that the absolute best cream to use was Boots Soltan Factor 50 sun cream - it's in a bright orange container.

I can tell you this is SUPERB!!

Not only do you get maximum SPF, but it is a really nice cream - not too greasy either, AND ml per ml it is one of the most cost effective creams out there!

    Best of luck!

Hope this helps! Can anyone recommend a face cream that has an spf but is also suitable for blemish prone skin?
I love Avons retroactive day cream. It has an spf of 25 and is about 拢9.99. Even cheaper if you get it off ebay! Can anyone recommend a face cream that has an spf but is also suitable for blemish prone skin?
use neutorgena oil-free day lotion, it is part of their advanced solutions line of skin products. it if also 15 SPF and i very good. i use it myself
I really liked Olay total effects (age prevention) it has spf 15 And i also liked Aveeno positively radiant with spf 15 I too have extremely acne prone skin and i can never find products that dont break me out but these 2 worked great There are also foundations that have spf I think it was loreal or neutragena that i liked either way its up to your preference Good luck
I went to Boots chemist and had a makeover they gave me all the advice that l needed to suit the colour of my skin and what product l needed. This was free but l had to book for my appointment but it was free and well worth it.
Hi, I use this stuff called 'No7 Soft %26amp; Sheer Tinted Moisturiser' Its a tinted moisturiser so if you have any blemishes it will cover them it also has SPF15 in and protects you against signs of ageing. Its really good and its light and fluffy on your skin unlike heavy foundations that clog your pores. Check out this site to read more about it:

Acid baby, you'll look so Hot.What are some good skin bleaching creams?
Smoothe away works at scraping away color. And cocoa butter aswell. An old home remedy to fade away the freckles and dark spots with lemon juice. It is a risky thing because lemon juice is very acid pH2. Sulphuric acid is just 1 point away at pH1, so you can imagine how acidic lemons are. You could end up burning or irritating your skin with lemon juice. At very least, it would make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. UV exposure triggers off melanin production. If your skin is continuously irritated, not just by sunlight, but by pollutants and allergens, your skin will react by producing more melanin and darkening even further.

Can anyone give me a name of a good cream that doesn't cost a lot of money for very extra dry sensitive skin

My skin has become very dry and sensitive and I'm fed up having to buy creams that to me that cost too much money, I'm wondering is there a really good cream out there that I can buy at a resonable price? I look forward to hearing back from other people who suffer from the same problem. Help!!!Can anyone give me a name of a good cream that doesn't cost a lot of money for very extra dry sensitive skin
The best moisturizer (in terms of effectiveness, price and lack of harmful side-effects) is Vaseline (aka Petroleum Jelly). Can anyone give me a name of a good cream that doesn't cost a lot of money for very extra dry sensitive skin
the cream we would always use on the eldery's very dry feet and skin is the best stuff I've ever found

    Eucerin cream (in the jar)

put it on at night so it can soak it. It's thick stuff
Actually the BEST cream you can use is for animals. Get some udder cream for cows. People can use it too, and it works much better than anything else you could possibly buy. You can get it at walmart, and it's about $4. Get either the lotion that comes in a white bottle with black spots (looks like a holstein cow) or get the type that comes in a green tin can with a cow on the front. I can't remember if they keep it in the pet department or the pharmacy, you would have to ask.

Or, Goldbond lotion (about $8 at walmart) is in the lotion section. It has more of a smell too it, but works all right.
I have really sensitive skin that is also dry, I use Cetaphil, you can buy it at places like Target, Walmart, ect...It's fairly inexpensive, around $10.00 for a large bottle.
    Try:

Nivea renewal night cream for body - a thin cream but very moisturizing

Queen Helene (creams in tubs) Cocoa Butter or Almond (They may have another scent) absorbs in well, and leaves dry skin really moist. Also the Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Lotion comes in a huge bottle - great to slather on.

If you want tons of lotion at a cheap price, go to the dollar stores, and their cocoa butter lotion is pretty good, as well as lots of other brands of lotions, all for a dollar a bottle.

That stuff (from the guy above) for cow's udders is called Bag Balm in the green square tin. That is really great, but very greasy (I think) petroleum jelly based with antiseptic... is healing too. You could probaby use straight petroleum jelly, cheaper.

Another one I really like and had forgotten about is Neutrogena Sesame Oil. It smells terrific!
try Aveeno. it's works incredible well for me.
Safflower oil works really well. Can be found in the baking section of your local grocery store.
Neutrogena. This sounds funny, but their foot or hand cream is really good anywhere on the body. I use it twice a day (just a little dab) and it works really well.

As well you can use Keri Bath Oil and bathe in that twice a week.

Lastly, dry exfoliate 3 times per week... gently before you shower.

i'm black and my skin gets REALLY dark in the summer...do you know of any skin lightening soap or cream that is sold over the counter that will make my complexion pretty and light? thanks soooo much

i understand that black is a great color, but i just don't want to get too dark..its not pretty to meSkin lightening cream or soap?
I turn a dark bronze myself and I avoid the sun like the plauge, i highly recomment using the highest spf sunscreen available. I went to Orlando last year and used one and did not turn one shade darker, whereas I tan in 15 minutes cutting my grass. If you need to lighten dark knees and elbows for example, black soap has helped me tremendously and you use it in the shower everyday and you will notice a difference after a couple weeks or so. Good luck! myspace .com/takihendrixmusicSkin lightening cream or soap?
You should try, ashe' skin lightening cream its from india and it can be used anywhere on the body it contains multi-vitamins and also collagen. Or if you would like to go herbal you can try saffron powder which you can purchase from any indian shop. the formula is saffron powder or 'hardi' then mix it with a little lime juice and milk. This is a skin treatment to lightnen and cleanse at the same time. Leave it until it forms a mask or crust on the skin then gently rinse off. Good luck from your friendly Beauty Advisor Shelly Bridgelal of Trinidad.
Black is beautiful...but hey, what do i know eh? You see, the tricky thing about skin lightening/whitening soaps and lotions or whatnot...they tend to be dangerous. You'd think that ppl would learn from the Romans (who use to apply mercury to their skin to lighten it)...that if it caused nerve damage and skin abnormalities then...chances are...it still does!

Anywho, if you want to keep your skin from darkening any more than it naturally is...you might wanna limit/avoid exposure to the sun. 'Cause, even though sunblock protects you against the damaging effect that the sun causes (aka photo aging, cancer, etc...) it doesn't prevent tanning. It just doesn't cause you to bake as quickly as if you went out without protection.

If you're not happy with how dark you are by the end of the summer...or you just want to prevent some of it from happening. Just use a lotion with AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) or Vitamin C...or even both (if that exists) It's natural...and it's safe. If you want to find out more about why these two ingredients would work...Google it. Peace.

    ~ Vee
whether you use soap or lotions or creams, they all work depending on the ingredients and how your skin reacts to them.. there are skin lightening products sold online that have hydroquinone or mercury and you should refrain from using them because they can cause skin cancer..

papain extract, licorice and kojic acid work best and are safe for long term use.. they are derived from natural plant ingredients.. if you want more information plus tips on how to achieve your goal right, i found the right products here -

Hi. No there is nothing you can do to speed up the healing process. Because you used the chemical on an area where there was breakage of the skin, it called a major irritation to occur. Do not put any other chemicals (such as peroxide) to try to heal or bleach the area. You could use a little make-up if you think it may diminish the appearance of redness. It will probably go away in a few days.

Try Clinique City Block Sheer (SPF25) or Super City Block (SPF40):

';High-level daily sun protection in a sheer, weightless formula. For all skins, even the most sensitive. Offers protection from sun鈥檚 UVA/UVB rays. Antioxidants help protect against environmental irritants. Wear alone or as an invisible under-makeup primer';.
i would go for a tinted moisturizer with built in sun protection. Even out your skin to makeup it look great but is definatey not makeupy. Moisturizes your skin, as it will get dry in the sun and protects you against the sun's rays. Try dermalogica. They make a great one. Bobbi brown has one to i believe.

Neutrogena would probably be your best bet if you are sticking to drugstore brands, that are somewhat affordable. Olay has some killer products, but they tend to be expensive.

    http://neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_25鈥?/a>

This is cool, because it exfolates as well brightening and evening your skin tone. It's important to exfoliate... because if you don't, your just using and wasting your products on dead skin. The part of your skin that needs it the most goes neglected :)

    http://neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_25鈥?/a>

That's the moisturizer for the set. They also have a night creme that has the important stuff more concentrated. You can use it whenever you want. Your skin cannot tell the difference between times of day. :)

Cocoa butter or Coconut Oil is great for your skin and brightening it. Alot of products on the market, especially lotions are mostly water, which won't really help. I know Wal-Mart sells 100% Coconut oil in the medicine/vitamin section for $10. It looks like it will last a long time too. It's not liquid though, which kind of made me mad, it looks almost like Crisco. :) I know they do sell the oil in an actual....oil form. Maybe at places like GNC. You can put it in an empty spritz bottle with some shimmer powder for your body. You can make a facial/body scrub with equal parts of oil and sugar. It's also really good on your hair if you deep condition it. :)I'm african american what is a good lightening cream and soap i can use to even my skin tone?
I would go see a dermatologist since a lot of the products on the market are usually useless. You could probably get a peel to even out your skin and a treatment to get rid of sun damage.

For a home remedy, the best way to go about evening your skin tone is just to exfoliate once a week, use a daily facial cleanser, and a moisturizer. Make sure you get your vitamins and nutrients in your diet, along with some good fats (fish, nuts, olive oil, etc.) so that your skin has the energy and resources it needs to take care of itself. Make sure you always use sunscreen, otherwise UV rays can increase the amount of melanin. This can give you dark spots and darken your skin overall.

I personally don't think you should lighten your skin. Just take good care of it and keep it healthy.

    Kerry Lotion is also good. :}
It's an old oriental recipe from a little know restaurant in the California bay area. It's hard to come by, however it will certainly may you feel much younger and energized.

It's called kumof suhm yuhn guigh and I am not sure exactly where you will find it.

Of course if it's for your hands and can get a pair of vinyl safety gloves. The throw away kind. Then goop a bunch of Vaseline on your hands and put the gloves on for about an hour. This will allow you to touch other things and keep an constant saturation on your hands. Then wash off the Vaseline and see if they don't feel allot better....
    I like it rough!!!! :)
I don't know but I'll tell you what, you find the lotion and I'll help you put it on ;-)
    Keri works pretty good..

but if you have the sensitive skin type you should try Cetaphil..

    that does wonders too..
I use Desitin Skin Care lotion. But what I've found that works the best to keep your skin soft is fish oil gelcaps. Take one of those a day, and your skin will become very soft and supple. I was amazed at how good it made my facial skin feel.

Fish oil gelcaps contain omega-3 fatty acids, which are also good for your body as a whole.

my skin tone is uneven and i can never find a good cover up i also have some wrinkle under my eyes. What is a good cream for uneven toned skin(also dry and wrinkled)?
Roc makes a great eye cream, it should really help with wrinkles if you use it morning and night. Also get an alpha hydrody acid cream (AHA) like Neutrogena's and use it every other night all over your face, except your eye area, that will help with wrinkles and skintone. And use a moisturizer day and night, preferably something with sunscreen in it like Oil of Olay with spf 15. I've tried a lot of different concealers and foundations, but I like Cover Girl concealer and Bare Minerals foundation best. I like these because not only do they work well but you can pretty much buy them anywhere and that's really convenient, with the exception of the foundation but I've found that it lasts a really long time. What is a good cream for uneven toned skin(also dry and wrinkled)?
Get some Vitamin C Oil. You can get it at a vitamin shop and it's less expensive than say, through Avon. Apply liberally every night under whatever cream you like. It's great.
Try the Skin Renewal by Clinique, because it will result brighter even skin tone and minimize fine lines.

I use it by myself (I don't have a wrinkle but I use if for the uneven skin tone because of the acne).

    This product doesn't cause breakout.

For the undereye, I use Shiseido.

    Hope this is help!
I could say it, but you would think I was a pervert!
What you should look for is a moisturizer with salicylic acid. It wont happen immediately but will over a short time help to even out your skin tone and may reduce the appearance of wrinkles however, you must be careful with salicylic acid near your eyes. You can also use a tinted moisturizer, they will help to give you the appearance of an even skin tone. Neutrogena makes these types of products. Good luck.
    Hi

Are we talking about a moisturizing cream or a cover-up cream/make-up?

Kiehls makes great moisturizers that can help reduce uneven skin tones from overexposure to prefumes and dyes. A lot of people are senstive to these and have blotchy, red skin, but don't realize it. Try a non-detergent cleanser without dyes or perfumes and see if your complexion improves. You may not need a concealer.

Wrinkles are natural, but good skin care and staying out of the sun are essential to minimizing them. Again, Kiehls makes several levels of moisturizers--oil free to very dry/repairing. From several companies, you can also get a tea-tree oil stick, a vitamin E stick (or oil capsules), or use 100% cocoa butter--but all of these are very strong and only for very dry skin. Use at night, before bed.

As always, a dermatologist will know best and they can provide really great suggestions and/or prescription for your specific concerns. Give them a try before you spend your hard-earned money on expensive wrinkle creams that may not work for YOU!

    Good luck, my friend!

It shouldn't. If you are experiencing wrinkles you might be having an allergic reaction to the acne medicine.
    again,

I don't think so. Before buying a product check if it's ';non-comedogenic'; meaning they should not cause blackheads or whiteheads, or ';non-acnegenic'; meaning they should not cause acne. (GOT IT FROM 2ND WEB, BELOW)

Well acne medications usually contain a drying ingredient so you may want to use a light non-oil base moisturizer between applications to keep your skin from drying. Try nuetrogena or Almay.

Yes im black and brown and i used it, it works good!!!I want to know if fair and lovely skin lightening creams can be used by black people?
i wouldnt trust it.. talk to a professiopnal dermatologist... if you just want it for like scars/dark spots, try lemon juice :)
its called being happy with the skin tone you were born with. try it. love it and embrace it before you end up like michael jackson.
skin lightening products can work for all types of skin, but may not work similarly for different skin types.. results will vary per individual's unique skin sensitivity..

but yes, fair and lovely might work for you.

you can also try dermaline skin whitening cream which is a safe and potent formula that gets rid of dark skin spots.
try afro sheen cream of the jungle
I thought they were designed for black people??

    Answer my q pls:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

Is there any lotion cream to make black people (me) go lighter in skin colour?

Any recommendations? Is there any lotion cream to make black people (me) go lighter in skin colour?
Give Michael Jackson a ring - he'll tell you how to do itIs there any lotion cream to make black people (me) go lighter in skin colour?
First of all be happy with who you are...And second of all email M.Jackson who should know....
Yes, there are loads. Sadly, all the major cosmetic houses do lightening ranges (Lancome, Chanel, Yves St Laurent, Shiseido...) and they will bleach your skin, it's true. I'm a pale blue Scot living in Asia and I find it hard to get hold of skincare that ISN'T whitenening - and you see all these women going about with paler faces and dark limbs. The pale amongst us want colour, the coloured amongst us want to be pale. Black skins are beautiful, healthy looking skins - be happy with what you've got and don't go trying to change. Unless you have millions to waste on lightening your whole body (and look how stupid Michael Jackson looks), you're going to get a patchy, unhealthy look at best.
why do u wanna do that. are u wacko like jacko!!?? be proud of who you are!!!
A better question is WHY do you want to lighten your skin? Do you have a hyperpigmentation problem, vitiligo etc? Or do you have an identity problem? If it is the first, go to see a dermatologist, if it's the 2nd, go to a psychologist.
Looking at your avatar, whatever you are using now is working fine!
Why would you want to do that? Is it just cosmetic reasons? Don't do it.
if you black you black you cant change that.

Momma always told me that. Lucky im not black like coal lol. I Love my skin color. You should love yours too :-D.

Well if u black like coal... Sorry
    There are bleaching creams
Why? You are made the way you are made. Theres so much more to life than skin colour etc.

I think human have reached a peak where all that can nearly possibly be done has been done and there's little left so we are left to think about unnecessary things like extreme appearance. You can improve on skin in many ways and its ok but skin colour is not important and shouldn't bother anybody.

Try and for get about it and look forward into real life and how beatiful it is and if your going to think negative think of all the things you could have acheived just by taking life and time for granted and put what time you have left into rectifying that.

Only that way you'll be a success in life and not need to ask q's like how do I make black skin lighter.
why would you want to alter your blackness? If really serious, see a dermatologist cuz you'd probably need perscription strength.
throw bleach on yourself jus joking but i think micheal jackson did that any ways they somthing with proactive for skin lighting cream
Nothing is safe my friend. Whatever you choose do not try laser treatment. Your dark skin is more absorbant and it will cause long term damage.

    FYI:

    Black is beautiful

    (so is everyone else)
why would you want to do that? It looks artificial. Be proud of your colour.
emulsion? or you could just learn to be content with what you got!
    What a horrible idea!

I'm a mixed woman living in the Caribbean so I have seen my share of darker people, as has foxy above - with pale faces and dark necks, due to this stupid, stupid practice.

I'm begging you, learn to love the skin you're in! Trust me, black really is beautiful! Don't believe me? Look at the gorgeous black women who've been recent Miss Universe's - Miss Botswana/Universe 1999, Mpule Kwelagobe - or Miss Trinidad/Universe 1998, Wendy Fitzwilliam.
why would u want to do that? .. i personally find the natural color more attractive .. don鈥檛 do that, ok?
    Ask Micheal
Why in hell would you want your skin to be lighter? Some PEOPLE are never happy. I mean look at the thousands of people who go to the beach and on sunbeds every year to get a bit of colour and you want to be lighter. For goodness' sake love and appreciate what you have. Anyway these creams could be very dangerous in the long run!
Not gonna judge why you'd want to but you can get cream which is the opposite to tanning lotion for us people dying to be tanned. Its got the same action as bleach so you've gotta have really good skin. Not sure where you get it from though. It might be prescription. Not sure sorry. Other alternatives are obv plastic surgery but hopefully your not that worried about it. Don't worry, Be happy. Good luck! x
I hope there is cause I wish that I was a tiny bit lighter

I have extremely dry skin ,especially the legs, has anyone got any suggestions of a really good cream Please?

I expect i will get some silly answers but hopefully someone out there will take pity on meI have extremely dry skin ,especially the legs, has anyone got any suggestions of a really good cream Please?
If it is really dry you have to use a combination of moisturising shower/bath products, intensive moisturisers (E45, Nivea, Johnson's baby range), olive oil or baby oil rubbed in regularly helps if severe. Use any moisturiser morning and night. A dermatologist friend used to tell me to rub cream into my skin when it was still slightly damp and really rub it into your skin - don't apply loads and let it sit on top of your skin - you need to work it in circular motions. Hope it helps!I have extremely dry skin ,especially the legs, has anyone got any suggestions of a really good cream Please?

you need more water and viatemen e try eating more avacodos and drink up to 8 glasses of water a day!
    Aveeno and Neutrogena Norweigen Formula.
    Nivea helps alot.
Try Bio-Oil (from pharmacies and health food stores). Is the only thing that has amde a real difference to my son's dry skin. Plus smells yummy!! Good luck!!
hydrocotozone. and dont keep your legs in water for more than 10 minutes, after that it starts to dehydrate your skin and so does hot water. have showers not a bath. trust me my doctors a doctor.
body butter is best. Try shea butter, coconut butter or sweet almond, they work well without being greasy.
The doctor will tell you to try E45cream first, if that doen't work go to your doctor for something stronger.
E45 cream will do the trick its only around 拢3.50 to buy and its extremely moisturising for dry skin. If you have skin like my son where it is cracked and bleeds from time to time (eczema) try using sudocreme as this is a healing antiseptic cream, you can buy this in chemists and supermarkets. If all else fails, try moisturising bath products like Dove body wash or use baby oil in the bath. Or take a trip to your doctor as they can always prescribe something to help, dont be embarrased dry skin is very common and they are probably used to people going in about it.
Goldbond for dry skin!!! It's great, I used it this summer.
The coconut body butter from The Body Shop, then i use the coconut dry oil over that, and it makes your skin so so soft and smooth!
Hi, Aqueous Cream, don't if you've tried it, it seems to help some but not all. I've certainly had some quite good results with it and in the same plus other places. Good luck.
Cetaphil. It's cheap and doesn't smell like anything but it is thick and really good. For dry skin, try their hand cream and use it all over. Basically, if you want a good lotion, it should be about the same thickness as ketchup. Also, put the lotion on right after taking a shower because lotion is pointless on dry skin. Put lotion on anytime you get wet, like bath or swimming or whatever because water will dry you out when it evaporates, which is why they say not to lick chapped lips.
you need a deep moisturising cream like Vaseline or palm cocoa moisturising cream, and don't over rub your skin or don't use harsh soap that can lead to dryness, you need moisturising bath creme or anything for moisturising and drink loads of water to help hydrate your skin.
e45,i use it on my little girl who has dry skin on her legs. The doc recommends it.
I have really dry legs and hands and this year I started using body shop cocoa butter and it's working great!
aveeno really helps me...i forget what kind but its the beige bottle..
    Dove Calming Night

    I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!!!!
    Try Nelson's Calendula Cream.
SKIN SO SOFT!! i have ezcema on my legs, and skin so soft ( an avon product) is the only thing that keeps my skin hydrated. YOu can get it from your local avon representative, or online. I get mine from a friend. Plus it only costs 7.50 for a good size bottle
    OLIVE OIL

    ancient! esp after bath
    E45 and baby oil.
ive always found if you rub dead fish on dry skin it helps....plus no one comes near enough to see it
E45 cream! i swear by it, i get really dry skin in the winter on my arms and face, you can get the body wash, moisturiser and lots of other stuff like sun cream you will be surprised. It really works
    try eucerin...
E45 ( you can get this over the counter)or dipro base (you need a prescription from your gp but it very good) or avenno
I buy body butter at Bath and Body. {any scent you choose} And then mix in my hand the body butter and some baby oil. Very silky on the skin.
    GOOSE FAT
Nivea moisturiser for sensitive dry skin (it works for my really dry skin,i bet it will work for you too,all the best.)
epaderm a cream created by the rvi hospital in newcastle. I have tried everything and nothing is as effective as this.
Try Aqueous cream BP avaiable from most chemist shops. My mum has extremely dry skin and uses this cream all the time with good results. So hopefully it will work for you.

I would recommend any moisturising products for The BodyShop. They are great! Especially the coco butter body butter. If u use the coco butter cream body scrub then the body butter, it will leave your skin looking and feeling great!

You could also try their vitamin e products.

Try The Body Shop Body Butters, they are a 24 hour moisturiser, I have a daughter of 18 years so am not a spring chicken but my skin has been so soft and smooth since I started using them.
hi have a good exfoluate soak in bath for 15 minutes in baby oil then use bio oil will get from health shops or boots about 7.95 will last you will notice difference but remember to keep skin moist use morning and night and exfolulate at least 3 times a week good luck to silky legs bye jackie have a nice day
Yes, use natural oils. The ones that you get when you are exceited - they are good for laods. Use mans if you can.
    Eumodase
I suffer from psoriasis and have raised patches of skin in several places on my body my doctor gave me a cream called Aquious cream you can use it in the bath or shower like a bodywash or just apply it on dry skin and it really takes away the dryness.
I think you would be best to try a few different kinds - to find what works best for you. Eucerin, E45, Bio-oil, Nivea, Ponds Cocoa butter and Vaseline are a good place to start and do not cost the earth.
E45, VASLINE, NIVEA, ANTI WRINKLE CREAM, TONING CREAM, GO TO THE BODY SHOP THEY CAN HELP YOU ALSO OR BOOTS CHEMIST
bio oil with some water- really good
    coco butter works a treat.
    i like nivea
Have you been tested for diabetes? Not that you have it, just to rule it out. I have the exact problem, and no creams work for me. Ive tried them all, and I didnt have this problem til about 3 yrs ago when I developed diabetes. Its mainly around the ankles up to the knee area. Its caused from poor circulation. I dont know... just a thought, if its a new problem- you may want to get checked. It was the only sign for me. I never had dry skin then all of a sudden it was terrible.
it doesnt really matter which brands you use. So long you moisturize your skin - preferably all over - daily esp after shower, it will help to lock in the moisture and keep dryness at bay.

Try to shower twice a day, and follow up with full body moisturising. If you found that the one you use doesnt work well with you, keep trying until you find one which does. Life is about trial and error *winks*
I use Eucerin lotion....I use it every day on my calves which get dry from shaving

...you can get it at the drugstore
forget all the others. Go to Boots and ask for Doublebase. I have really bad dry skin and this stuff is wonderful. It is a bit pricier than the others but it is worth every penny.

    This is what it says on the tube ';A highly moisturising and protective hydrating gel for regular and frequent use in the management of dry or chapped skin conditions which may also be itchy or inflammed';
Hi have you tried exfoliating then rubbing in baby oil. You can try Bio oil, this is for dihydrated skin as well as other things.Just massage it in and you will have soft skin in no time. Also you can try a 24 hour moisturiser and a moisturising shower gel and moisturies after the shower everytime you wash. I had really bad dry skin and it used to wrinkle up and i found getting in to a routine moisturing every night before going to as it renews ifself during the night and then after every shower. i no its a pain but you get used to it.
E4 cream is probably what you are looking for.

It's cheap and women buy it by the lorry load.
cream e45 you can buy it at the local chemist
e 45 cream its really good 4 dry skin
Body butters are good especially if made from Shea,
I regularly use E45. Actually, the 1st answer re ';tadpole cream'; - semen has been proven to be good for your skin and can leave it feeling soft and supple, but you have to rinse it off, like a face pack.
I suffer from the same but i find if I exfoliate regularly with an exfoliating cream/shower gel or these puff balls that you can get from the body shop, and then use a good moisturiser like the ones mentioned before E45, Dove, Nivea, etc

I use Clinique sparkle skin, and then use Clinque deep comfort body butter. Both work a treat and my skin feels lovely and smooth after.

But there is eucerin which is for problem skin go to www.eucerin.co.uk. They do free samples too.
Baby oil works on my extremely dry skin, especially in winter!! Defenitly give this a try, i guarantee it will work! Its cheap, and smells good too!

  • What is the best face cream for severe dry skin and acne?

This is what I would do:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON鈥楾 EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored.

Aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water.

Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands a full of bacteria and oils. What is the best face cream for severe dry skin and acne?
Biore' or ProactivWhat is the best face cream for severe dry skin and acne?
Not ProActive! Try a great herbal product called ';Nature's Cure'; - it worked for my son, and I'm sure it will work for you!
You either have acne OR dry skin - the two do not use the same cream to clear them up. For an oily, acne-prone skin, you would need to use oil-free cleansers and creams, astringent or acetasalicyllic acid toners and a clay based mask in your skin care program - NEVER use a gritty scrub on an acne prone skin.. For Dry skin, you would need to use moisture rich mask, alcohol free toner and emollient creams and cleansers, gritty scrubs are fine dry skin if use in moderation. Be sure to wear sunscreen when going out side.

A lawsuit.I have a rash from Avon Skin So Soft cream hair remover... what can I use to make it go away?
Buy old fashion Epsom Salt sold in dollar stores in the USA or food stores probably anywhere. Read the directions and take a luke warm bath. This is also great for relaxing. This is the main ingredient in all bath salts but with the added fillers and perfume you don't need with a rash!

Then also buy Witch Hazel which is also easy to find and just as cheap as Epsom Salt. Buy cotton pads or cotton balls (harder to use) or gauze pads (expensive if for bandages) ... Soak the cotton in a dish or container with the Witch Hazel poured into the container until full. Use the cotton pads or gauze as compresses. This Witch Hazel soaked pads can even be put into the refrigerator to help soothe the burn and or itch of the rash and reduces the swelling from the rash. Witch Hazel is an old time healing product that REALLY works!

A product sold under the name of ';Tucks'; has 92% or better Witch Hazel in it as the active ingredient! This is why hospitals use it for many different reasons.

If you follow BOTH of these, you will be well on your way of being very happy and rash free without using other chemicals to cause more problems you don't need or want.
I have sensitive skin aswell so to make it go away dont add anything to the rash and stop using the cream

Above, and im 15.How can i clear my face of spots? Is there like some cream. I got told i have combination skin BTW.?
you could be allergic to a product you are using, start cutting down on the products you are using eliminating them one by one you must go about 7-9 months without using a certain product and if the spots go away then you know that's what you are allergic to otherwise, make sure you are getting the right amount of vitamins and most creams are not 100% reliable the best thing you can do is ask a dermatologistHow can i clear my face of spots? Is there like some cream. I got told i have combination skin BTW.?
vitamin E and buy some skin whitening cream. also if you have money to spend, go to a dermatologist and ask about a peeling treatment. my cousin had something called a diamond peel done, and now she looks so much better.

What cream do you recommend with out spending a fortune to make your skin glow and flawless?

I agree! Aveeno's Positively Radiant moisturizer is amazing. Over time, it will even out your skin tone and smooth its surface. Moisturizing is the key to a radiant glow! Make sure to keep your body hydrated from the inside too - that means drinking tons of water. What cream do you recommend with out spending a fortune to make your skin glow and flawless?

  • Is thinning of the skin a TRIAMCINOLONE STEROID cream side effect?

I have eczema and was prescribe triamcinolone cream sort of like ( the thick Euricen cream). I used it for years and then the skin on my inner thighs and hips where I used the cream the most began to thin and wrinkle. My skin started to turn silvery-white and then darkened over the years. I went to a new dermatologist and he said that it was from using the cream too much and then prescribed me Elidel (that did not help) is this a common side effect and if so is there anything to reverse thinning of the skin? It looks as though I have strechmarks from far away until you get closer and see that my skin is actually very thin and wrinkled. So is this a common side effect? and how do I reverse the thinning of the skin I was thinking about get surgery to have the skin on my inner thighs removed but I don't think this is possible being that I'm a very petite women and probably don't have enough skin for the surgeon to stitch me back together. Is thinning of the skin a TRIAMCINOLONE STEROID cream side effect?
absolutely. These products should not be used in cosmetically sensitive areas, like the face. Stop the product, and several months to a year later there may be some improvement. I do not know of any antidote other than time...Is thinning of the skin a TRIAMCINOLONE STEROID cream side effect?
I also use a topical steroid and was told only to use on affected skin because it will thin the skin in the areas applied

Avon makes a great lotion, I don't remember the name, but it comes in a white bottle with blue writing.
Vaseline overnight. Wrap your hands in plastic or socks. It is the best.
Get yourself some Silk Lotion From www.formeBath.com. its like $5.00 and used regularly will make your skin feel like silk.
best I've found is Vaseline Cream. It comes in a tube for $2.49 at WalMart
I like Neutrogena Swiss Formula for dry, cracked skin. And I know it sounds ridiculous, but my dad uses this stuff called Corn Huskers Lotion. He gets it at CVS. His hands are in BAD shape from his job and he swears by the stuff.
Eucerin -- it applies more easily if you first apply a lighter lotion.
You need something that will act as a barrier while the skin heals. I would suggest Aquaphor at night, which will allow it to sink in.

For all day long, Neutrogena does a hand cream called Swiss Formula that rocks.

Apply both of them to hands that are a little damp, to trap in the moisture.

Both are available at the drug store.
Queen Helene Cocoa butter. You can buy it at Walmart for around $2.00. I use it all over and my skin is silky smooth and soft.

    Best skin lightening cream?

The skin under my underarms is considerably darker than the rest of mybody. I am a lighter skinned spanish/black person who burns easily in the sun. Are there any safe, affordable and effective creams to lighten the skin under my arms?Best skin lightening cream?
avoid skin lightening cream with hydroquinone because they harm the skin in the long run.. try dermaline skin whitening cream and apply on the affected area...Best skin lightening cream?
There is not such thing as ';skin lightning'; creams the only thing they do is brighten the skin and take away the tan and it probably wont work underarms but i would say scrubbing works other than that i wodnt suggest anything
My guess is to exfoliate your underarm area with a gentle granular scrub and then apply some type of soothing product over it. Usually the skin darkens because it's been irritated. I've used Ambi, on the areas of my skin where there's hyperpigmentation and it worked quickly. A product with Alphahydroxy Acid may help also. I think that Dark Opal carries a product which contains both alphahydroxy acid and hydroquinone (the lightening ingredient in Ambi).

Should I be wary of skin creams that claim to repair DNA?

Anything that can alter me on a molecular level shurely can't be that good for you?

it's called DNageShould I be wary of skin creams that claim to repair DNA?
I didn't see a claim to repair DNA on the Nivea site.

I saw a claim that it will protect your skin's DNA from future damage. Any good sunscreen will do that. No need to spring for something that's high priced.Should I be wary of skin creams that claim to repair DNA?
Yes, I would be wary of it, since there is NO credible scientific research or proof that such repair actually takes place. The best you can hope for is, it doesn't actually alter the DNA.... or else you actually have a chance of having mutated skin cells. (ie. cancer)
The only things topical creams can do for you is drain your pocketbook. Eat a balanced diet, get plenty of rest, excercise and drink plenty of water!
The late Dame Anita Roddick, the founder of The Body Shop, once said ';I am perpetually amazed how much people will pay for what is basically an oil-in-water emulsion';.

I much prefer you to go to the doctor as its a cheap and fast procedure.

It stinks a little bit cause they are freezing your mole off. After that you get a little scar, but it will go away around a week.

Is there any type of skin creams to remove moles ?

I'm pretty sure it will say on the bottle if it is safe. But it probably isn't. Sorry.
    I wouldn't recommend it... lol
Read the bottle.. it says, DO NOT USE FOR BIKINI WAXES.

There, problem solved. Use a razor.
i suggest you not use it on pubic area, you might get an infection.try waxing instead.
Nair has one especially for the bikini area. It's like $5 and is in a little bottle. There's not a lot of it..But it works.
no, you can't use it down there. it says on the packaging.

Why do people who invent these ';miraculous'; skin creams and de-aging creams et.. not use them themselves?

It seems all of these people don't use their own inventions, because dang they look old, and a lot look rougher then their patients/consumers.Why do people who invent these ';miraculous'; skin creams and de-aging creams et.. not use them themselves?
Not all look like you describe. Many are relatively young, attractive models, movie stars, celebrities and the like who are in the business solely because it's so lucrative. They obviously do not use their own products to stay that way because they know their products contain countless skin harming and skin aging and health threatening chemical ingredients.

It sounds like you believe these rip off toxic products actually work. A recent nationwide survey of women anti-aging product users found less than 50% said they had actually given any benefit at all.

Check out these sites to see how damaging to skin and health these products are.

I am trying to buy oregon grape root in a cream to use on the skin?

i hear it is good for psoriasis as anyone out there had good resultsI am trying to buy oregon grape root in a cream to use on the skin?
Oregon grape root is useful in treating the various symptoms of ';damp heat,'; such as:

    麓 Abdominal fullness and distention

    麓 Constipation alternating with diarrhea

    麓 Foul-smelling loose stools,

    麓 General feeling of heaviness,

    麓 Nausea,

    麓 Reduced appetite,

麓 Reduced thirst although with the sensation of dry mouth,

麓 Sticky, thick, and yellow or green mucous discharges,

麓 Watery, oozing skin eruptions, and

麓 ';Red'; symptoms: red tongue, hot flushes, bad temper, rapid pulse.

(Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine are likely to note that Oregon grape root is less appropriate than coptis in treating syndromes in which there is a ';deficiency of Yin,'; an inherent tendency to lose fluids.)

Oregon grape root脥s best-researched application in modern herbal medicine, however, is in the treatment of chronic inflammatory skin conditions, such as psoriasis.

    Typical Preparations

Topical creams containing 10% tincture of Oregon grape root.

Also used as tea, tincture and it may be administered in capsule form.

    Proper dosage is important:

麓 Tea: 1 to 2 grams (1/2 to 1 teaspoon) of dried root steeped in 150 ml (approximately 2/3 of a cup) of hot water for 10 to 15 minutes three times daily. This is not the same dosage as for the chopped herb.

麓 Tincture: 3 to 6 ml. (1/2 to 1-1/2 tsp) three times daily (but no more than three doses of any kind of Oregon grape root product per day).

麓 For skin disorders: 10% tincture in ointment, applied to the skin three times daily
